It is the Company policy to regard the provision of Government legislation in respect of Health and Safety as the minimum standards acceptable, and to provide Health and Safety facilities that exceed this standard whenever and wherever possible.
The company will do all that is reasonably practicable to secure the Health, Safety and Welfare of its Employees, Contractors, Site Visitors and members of the General public and all others in so much as they come into contact with the company and its activities.
Whist the overall responsibility for ensuring the effective implementation of this policy rests at the highest management level, it remains the responsibility of each individual employee of the company to comply with those safety regulations directly affecting their work, and those existing within the company generally. It is the responsibility of all supervisors and managers to ensure that the company’s policy on Health and Safety matters is properly communicated to those employees for whom they are responsible and to maintain effective discipline relating to the use of those facilities and procedures established by the company to maintain a high standard of Health and Safety at work.
The company undertakes to promote through joint consultation with the recognised Trade Union (Amicus) representatives, a continuing programme of training, publicity and professional advice to ensure that standards of Health and Safety at work are kept constantly under review and action taken whenever changes and improvements are necessary. Particular attention will be given to creating an awareness among employees of the need to maintain a work place in which there is a common concern to reduce hazards and which recognises the need to adhere to regulations and procedures which are directed towards this objective.
The company expects all its employees to co-operate fully and to embrace this statement and to assist the company in achieving compliance. By working in a safe manner at all times, by not carrying out tasks for which they are not trained for and reporting dangers or potentially hazardous conditions where they exist.
Each employee should recognise their legal responsibility to ensure that their conduct at work does not put either their fellow colleagues or themselves at risk.
The Managing Director will be responsible for the overall implementation of this policy and will ensure that the adequate resources, financial, material, or in terms of time or manpower are provided to enable this policy to be successfully implemented.
The company will review this policy at least annually or where changes in its operation, activities or changes in the law reduce this interval.
